4.  How Great Thou Art Publications Presents 3 day ART Classes

Barry Stebbings, creator of How Great Thou Art Publications, has been traveling
the United States and Canada for many years teaching beginning drawing and
painting classes to homeschoolers.  It is estimated that he and his wife have
personally instructed over 60,000 homeschoolers in this manner.  The purpose
of this course is to inspire students to do good works, to show them that God
has given each and every one of them the ability to create, and that drawing and
painting are learned disciplines.  The couse includes teaching many of the basic
fundamentals of beginning drawing and painting, an introduction to art appreciation
(studying the great masters), and the new techniques in the use of colored markers
and colored pencils.

1.  Could everyone playing volleyball please bring a volleyball if they have one? Thanks, Bonni

2.  Thanks to everyone who faithfully orders and pays for pizza! If each FAMILY, (not family member, just family), could contribute 25 cents just once for January, and then February, March etc. we will have enough to purchase plates and napkins for that month!

3.  Please pray for the families of the 4 young men from Manheim who were killed on Sunday.  Pray too for the students of the district who knew them.

1.  Our family is asking that the group would pray for us…we are beginning clean up of a pretty large fire on the farm, it was a large garage but it has damage to almost half of it (thankfully major tractors, sprayers and lawnmowers were pulled out in good timing) There is a lot of damage and a lot of my deceased father in laws things to sort through, plus there is a lot of water in there, anyways my husband is still laid off and we are relying on the farm alot lately. Thanks, Kim N.
2. I wanted to thank the students in the volleyball class for their great attitude, and help in setting up and tearing down the equipment.  For the next 13 weeks I would like to start the hour with 15 – 20 minutes of drills.  In order to do that I’ll need 10 -12 more volleyballs. (After the drills, we will play 2 games each week)   I am NOT asking you to buy a ball.  I just wanted to let you know so that if you have a ball at home, we would love to use it!  You can take it home each week, or I would keep them in a special, secret closet…shhhhh.  Thank you class, Bonni G.
3.  Please remember to pay for your electives and classes this week.
4.  I will send this both as an email, and as a blog update.  Let me know if you do not receive the blog update notice.

Welcome Back!  See you all on Wednesday Morning!

1.  Bonni Greiner is offering the third, fifth, and eighth grade achievement tests on Feb. 28th.  The tests are $12.50 each and she has room for eight students for each grade in her home.  There will be a signup sheet on Jan. 5th and 12th, after that she will offer the test to other homeschooled students.

2.  We will be serving pizza on Jan. 5th.  Bonni is assuming that everyone’s standing order is the same, or was corrected on the handout.  If you’d like to order pizza, please call her today before 3:30 PM.

3.  The following electives have a fee for the spring semester. Please come prepared to pay on Wednesday, put the money in the appropriate envelope and mark your child paid.  Thanks! Kim Groff

Bells – beg. and advanced – Jim Hoffman – $35
Spanish – Laura Fahnestock – 47.50
Geometry – Alice Bross - $50
Middle School girls literature – Leah Mitchell – $50

4.  The elective committee needs your help, as we begin to plan the elective

5.  Attached are the revised elective helper schedules for the Spring
semester.  Remember, if you are not able to help on one of your
scheduled days, it is your responsibility to find a replacement.  If you
make a switch, please either notify LaWanda or make the switch on the
master schedule which will be in the green folder on the front table
each week.  Please note on these schedules that there are still some
openings where help is needed.  You will see these marked in red.  The
immediate holes we need filled are for a volleyball helper this week and
next.  Please notify LaWanda as soon as possible, if you would be
willing to take one of these spots.
