October 29 2010

1.  November 10 will be our member’s meeting.  If you know of anything that needs to be discussed at that meeting, please let me know.  We are putting the agenda together, and plan to post it before the meeting.

2. Please remind your children of our policy about cell phones.  They are not to be taken to class.  Teachers, if you see a phone being used in class, you need to take it, and give it to the parent at the end of the day.  We cannot tolerate this disruption in our classes.

Picture Day tomorrow!

Please have a form for each of your children, and attach the money for the order.  If you have more than one child, please note on each of the forms if you are paying with one check.  The individual pictures will be included in the yearbook.

We will begin with the 2/3 yr old class, and progress through the grades.  If you are a teacher, please try to be flexible with picture times.  Your class will be notified when it is your turn.

If you are a high schooler, and are not there all of the hours, please note that we are hoping to take your pictures around 10 am. , so please plan to be there then.

Pictures will be taken upstairs in the atrium.  The background is blue this year.

Handbell Choir Openings

There are still some openings in both the Beginner & Advanced Bell choirs for the Spring semester.  The Beginner Bell Choir will be held from 1:30-2:30.  Students in grades 3 and above may participate.  Previous musical experience is not necessary, but helpful.  Cost is $30.

The Advanced Handbell choir runs from 2:30-3:30.  Students need to have at least 2 years of hand bell experience or at least 2 years of music lessons in another instrument.  Students in grades 5 and above may participate, but  must first be approved by the bell instructor to advance to this level.   Cost is $30.

Please note that both these choirs require dedication.  It is extremely important to make an effort to be at all practices.  Both choirs will perform at Presentation Night in April and may possibly perform another concert at Pleasant View Retirement Community.  Moms of students wishing to join will be asked to fill one or two elective helper spots during the Spring semester.

If interested in joining, contact LaWanda () by Nov. 17.

The God’s World News Magazine (gr. 4-6) was missing from Kim Groff’s spot in the file folder on Wed., if anyone has an extra please give it to her next Wednesday.

Fall Survey Please return your surveys this week!

Photo Day is Wednesday.  please print a form for each of your children, and have your money ready.  Also- note that the background color is blue this year.

Looks like Farm Show Weather!!

Enjoy your Week!

Attention all students going to the PA Ren Faire! We will be meeting at Hernley Mennonite Church on 72 at 8am on Friday.  We plan to return to the church between 3:30-4pm for pick up.  We do have enough seats for all students to ride with Tracy Graybill or Christi Minnich. If you do not plan to pay for lunch at the Faire, please pack a lunch to carry with you. Lastly, if possible, bring a cell phone.  We will be splitting up into groups for part of the time, and it would be nice to have a way to check in. If you do not have a cell phone that you can use or borrow, we will make sure that you are with a group that has one. Any questions or concerns, please see Christi Minnich at co-op or call.

Parents-Please remember to sign in – in the book on the table in the Fellowship Hall this week, as soon as you arrive.  This will be very helpful to us, so that we do not have to check everyone off our list when we are also trying to begin announcements.

Curriculum Committee and Elective Committee will both be having our first meetings within the next weeks, so if you have any things to bring to our attention, please let me know!
